Snapshot Saturday. Catchy 'eh ? It is not my idea but I saw this
on another blog and thought it might be good idea to help motivate
me to write about lighter subjects on my blog.
I'm thinking I will try and take a few photos every week and post
them on Saturday. With this in mind I thought I'd start today.
One little problem. I hadn't taken any pictures this week.
Not to worry. Grabbed the camera.. checked
for memory card (frequent mistake) checked that it was fully
charged and headed out. Arrived at the club, unloaded bike and
set out on my quest for beautify composed photos. One small
glitch .. The camera is still at home on the computer desk.
'Twas a glorious day though. I saw numerous deer, I had a wild
turkey fly right along side of me while riding down the trail no
more than eight feet away. It flew right with me for maybe fifty
yards. I'd like to say I could have taken a few really good shots but
to be truthful I would have probably wrecked the bike or dropped the
camera trying. But in my mind I could have done it . I even saw two
woodcock which are really rare game birds in this area. Small, long
beaked birds that I always questioned being game birds since it would
take six of them to fill a skillet. Lot's of rabbits, frogs and such but all
much to quick for my decrepit reflexes.
Giving up on wildlife I decided rather than waste the day I would pick
some fresh black raspberries. Low and behold when I got to 'my spot' someone
had beat me to it. No problem .. I know another spot just as good. The only
problem is I was beaten there too but not by another berry picker per say.
This guy can have all the berries he wants.....no arguments from me.
I did manage to work around him enough to get enough berries for a
cobbler but I was forever on guard for any of his family members.
And since I had my phone out already I decided to add a little color to the
page with a few wildflowers.
As sorry as this selection is ,it will just have to do for this weeks entry.
With any luck next weeks will be better. But then again I might forget I
even started this little series by next week.. Stranger things have happened.
