Life changes .. limits met.

Today ..   02/10/2022  I have reached my limit !   After today I will no longer scavenge through the trash can in the foreseeable future.

Today I threw away my first peanut butter jar in years.  And although it felt good,  In some strange way it made me a bit sad.   One more serving of cottage cheese, and we'll see how that goes.

Ever since our switch from margarine to real stick butter there has been a void in my supply of storage containers for leftover meals at the campsite.  Since I personally lack the ability to cook for 'one' there are always leftovers. I managed to fill this void with cottage cheese containers and such.  I also started collecting peanut butter jars and similar plastic jars for such things as hauling bait.. lightning bug cages (temp of course) and other assorted tasks around camp.  Problem is my wife doesn't share my need for more than one or two of these so I often have to sneak them out of the trash    If i am not the one emptying the container  As of today that is over.      No I didn't get rid of my wife.

As of today the cabinet where I store my 'generic tupperware' has reached it's capacity.  Given my advanced years and reduced volume of cooking I think I have an ample supply to last me for a good while.  (There is one tall yogurt container in the fridge I have my eye on)

After all the years of being scolded for staining the good storage bowls with red sauces and such you would think that disposable plastic would be a welcome addition but I guess it just doesn't outweigh the game of Russian Roulet trying to find the left over cranberry sauce (which, by the way stains)

It's going to be hard to kick the habit.  I hate throwing away perfectly good reusable  things   Hey  Maybe I can find a craft that utilizes them !!!!!!  I'll keep y'all informed !
