Week in review.

Ahh Christmas week.  A week of confusion, stress, last minuet shopping and
all around merriment.  I'd like to say it was a fun week with quality family time
and fun for all but that would be a stretch.  Oh how I miss the holidays where
everyone gathered for good meals and good times.  With today's job market the
way it is both kids and their spouses have jobs that just don't allow for get  to-
gethers as in times past.  Son works Christmas eve, Daughter can't come in till
late,  Being a manager, Son in law has security duty Christmas day.. Daughter
in law works early the day after.  Then there's the 'Your parents / My Parents'
problem.  Was all so simple when everybody lived close together. Oh well,
enough whining .. we made it work, at least had Christmas dinner together
( Except for poor Josh ) and I think everyone had a nice Christmas.  Just wish
it could be different is all.
On the up side I managed to get my health insurance situation taken care of
before the deadline (after a 4 hour marathon meeting  with a 'Navigator' that
knew less than I did about the process)
I also started a new project I call my 'Cowboy Gun'   It will be a single shot
shotgun adorned with a shorten barrel, leather wrapped stock and decked out
with gaudy brass tack inlays.  lol   Basically just a utility gun to carry in the
scabbard on the four wheeler as a 'just in case'  Hey if ya must carry , you
might as well make it fancy !  lol
Oh yea.. forgot to mention .. I got the girls a Christmas train and made
them a small 4X6 layout with a tunnel and some houses and stuff.  Yea, I
know they're girls but It's a whimsical Christmas train and they can add a
dated car each year. (I mean I can )
Today I went out to the Camper to get some things and found out they
are burning off the gas well on the property.  Really quite impressive.
Not sure how long the initial burn lasts to get impurities out of the well
but a at nine million cubic feet per day it has quite a roar to it.
So to wrap up, after a down beginning to the week I managed to
get through it alright thanks to a little quiet 'reflection' time mid week.
After all Life is what it is and I guess we darn well make the best we can
of it.  When I go through these imperfect times I just think about others
and how lucky I am to have the life I have.
