Phil Phil Phil What are you doing my son ? It's a different
world out there today. You can't go offending people simply
because of something you read in an old book. You and I
know what you say is so but In today's world people are not
into the truth if it has the possibility of offending someone.
Especially if it is coming from some backwoods redneck. So the
best thing for guys like us to do is just keep quiet and let the
new wave world just spiral into it's politically correct cesspool.
Ya know.. screw that ! I think a bunch of our forefathers
decided years ago that we have the right to say what we like.
If people can openly belittle government officials, shamelessly
twerk in a lewd manner on a public stage and suffer no
consequences then I think quoting the good book should not be
a punishable offense. But that's just me.
I am just as sorry as can be that some are offended by Phil's
statements and maybe he should have been a bit more diplomatic
in the way he stated them but I do believe he is strong in his
convictions and has every right to express them. I guess maybe
I'm a bit old fashioned and not much of a bookworm but I think
the older books are the best books so I'm going with Phil on this
one.
This is a tough post for me because I have certain issues with
same sex marriages and gay issues, maybe because I just don't
understand. don't get me wrong I'm a 'live and let live kind of
guy but like I said .. I guess I just don't understand.
And as far as the statements about the blacks being happy back
in the day. I wasn't there so I can't speak for them. but That
was 'Back in the day' It is easy to look back and see that they're
life was hard but at the time.it was just the way things were.
Was it right? probably not but it was what it was at the time.
Some will disagree but I think we addressed that problem and
corrected it .. time to move on.
