Train Show 2014

Last week was the TCA Eastern Division Train Spring
meet in York Pa. Not quite as big as the Fall meet but still
attended by thousands of people from around the country.
I thought twice about attending this spring because I had
kinda lost a little interest over the winter and really could
not think of anything I wanted to buy.  But I decided it
was a long winter and I could always use a couple days
away with  a few great train buddies so off we went !
First stop was at a vendor that does re-paints on old
trains.  The elder of our group dropped off a nice vintage
Santa Fe set to be repainted on our fall trip and couldn't wait
to see the results. Although the vendor is quite expensive
he does fantastic work and this set was no exception.

So with that excitement out of the way we settled down to enjoy
the show.  Like I said I wasn't looking for anything in particular this
spring so I just meandered through the six large buildings admiring
the wares being offered and watching several very large layouts being
operated by clubs from across the country.

There is one shaky 'ole guy that greets us every year at a
certain booth that I managed to snap a photo of.  Old fart has
been there since the first year I attended..lol
All in all a good time.. no big purchases this time but lots of ideas
and fellowship.  Maybe I'll find something I can't live without this fall !
