Springtime ragweed and pollen can make life
miserable for a lot of people. Me included. But
I'm not about to let a little watery eyes and stuffy
nose keep me from enjoying the outdoors.
On a recent trip to one of our club ponds I
discovered that the usually well manicured area
around the pond had not been cut yet. Probably
because of the wet weather. Most people would
be annoyed by this but I saw it as an opportunity
to marvel in the beauty of the mere weeds that
grow around the ponds and such. And right up
until the point that I could no longer see or breath
I must say it was quite enjoyable.
I guess with the proper
medication one could
possibly frolic around
for hours on end just
admiring the beauty of
the many wildflowers,
weeds and poisonous
plants that inhabit these
grounds. But since I
wasn't armed with an
ample supply of Benadryl
and Eipi-pens I was forced to cut my session short.
Still after collapsing on the ground I was able to
get a couple shots before the ambulance came.
Truth be told I do enjoy the plants even though they are common
weeds they are oh so colorful. And I have very few allergies so
I suffer no ill effects from the pollen. But then that would have
made for a pretty boring story to accompany a couple mediocre photos
now wouldn't it !
