Help !! Police !!!

And now for my foot in the mouth, controversial
post for the month.
Lately I have been reading quite a few of the stories
posted on the net about Police Departments running
wild,  murdering our unarmed youth.  Part of the
reasoning for my intrerest is I have always felt that
a lot (by all means not all or even most) of the law
enforcement people in the smaller town around my
neck of the woods are shall we say power hungry
persons that are maybe seeking the power and
authority that they otherwise might not have.  That
being said I assure you that the majority of the
officers are outstanding men and women that take
law enforcement seriously and provide a great
service to the communities that they serve.  Every
job in the world has these two types of employees
so I don't see why we should expect the Police
departments to be any different.  I truly expected
to find the power hungry type behind all or most
of these shootings.  What I found as I read is that's
not usually the case.
I am not defending any of the officers in any of
the shootings because each case is different and not
enough is know about the officer involved .. but ..
When are the youth in this country going to realize
that there are going to be repercussions from actions
against law enforcement?  If they are as innocent as
they claim why fight and run?  Nothing good is going
to come of it.  In one of the most recent shootings
the big defense is 'he had his arms up ready to surrender'
but as you read the story, this was after a fight with the
officer, shots fired and he was hit.  I am in no way
defending the officer for the multiple shots.  What I
am saying is If the youth would have heeded the order
to get out of the street and not fought the officer it would
never have escalated to that point.
In another case Traffic stop. Young man gets out and
takes off running. Officer chases and sees him pull a gun
officer fires. Defense says he was scared and was
just trying to dispose of the gun . No need to shoot him.
I can't imagine being in these officers shoes on a daily
basis especially in a big city environment. So I guess I'm
saying look at each case and read both sides of the story
before you pass judgment .  I'm sure there is plenty of
guilt and blame to go around.  But please if you have any
contact with young people try to make them understand
that putting yourself in those kind of positions is really
stupid.  Maybe it's wiser to obey an officer and look a
little 'uncool' than to prove your a badass and end up
a statistic.
