gripe time !

      Tonight, as every other night, I was sitting in front of my
trusty computer watching You Tube videos from the nine or
ten channels that I subscribe to.  Mostly bushcraft channels,
some cooking channels, some craft channels and a couple
porn channels (Just seeing if you people are paying attention)
One of the channels I follow is a couple from, I think, Canada
that do a lot of day camping, product reviews and informational
videos on camping tricks and tips.  Tonight's  clip was a bit
different.  The clip was titled something like 'Quiet time alone in
the woods with my God'   It was about a four or five minute clip
with no dialog. Simply a man on a snowy day starting a fire, brewing
some coffee and meditating.  Then he broke the rule !  He pulled
out his Bible.  For a total of maybe five seconds the film showed him
sitting there by the fire reading the bible then a few minutes of
meditation.  What a firestorm.  Comment section went nuts.  people
unsubscribing .. complaining "this is a bush Craft channel, not a
religious channel "  I could not believe my eyes!  Don't ya think
maybe the title of the post would give you a hint ?  If you are that
offended then scroll on down the road and don't watch !!  I do
have to admit I was a bit disappointed myself.  Not because of the
content but because his Bible was called 'The Sportsman's Bible'
and since there was no dialog he never mentioned where it was
available !  Guess I'll have to Goggle that !   lol   It just amazes me
that with all of the problems in the world today these people still
refuse to turn to the one thing that can help them cope with the madness.
   On another note a few weeks back I was at Ollie's.  You know the
liquidator store with all of the stuff normal stores couldn't sell .  Well
I picked up a Duck Commander Daily Devotional.  Now before you
slap me let me explain.  The book is really a very good read for a
slow learner like myself.  Each day offers a Bible verse .. a real life
example of it's application by one of the cast members and a
corresponding prayer.  For me, this is a tremendous help as it helps
put the scripture into real life situations that I can relate to.  Some
may scoff at this backwoods approach but I will take any help I can
get to help me understand .
    So in closing If there are any readers out there that are thinking
This is a lite hearted Blog.. not a religious Blog !  I suggest you
simply leave and come back on a day when I 'feel funny' .  I really
don't think I could take the negative comments that my Canadian
friend withstood and keep my mouth shut   lol
