We've all done it. Watched a movie,
heard a song, listened to a jingle and had
it stick in our minds all day. Sometimes
several days. Recently while stuck in the
camper on a cold rainy day during deer
season I decided to watch a movie. Now
people that know me know that this is a
very rare occurrence but drastic times call
for drastic measures. Limited to four
stations on the TV in this remote area
limits ones choices, but alas I do have a
DVD player in my set so all is not lost.
Second problem is as almost everyone
knows of all of the movies that I own
ninety percent of them are Meg Ryan
movies. Sorry, I know they are mostly
considered 'chick flicks' but I simply
can't help myself. Always simple honest movies where true love
always wins out in the end and I guess I just need that kind of
reinforcement from time to time.
Anyhow I decided on City of Angels a movie I had only seen about
fifty times as opposed to the others that I had seen a hundred.
The movie isn't the greatest but it does exercise ones thoughts of
what truly goes on during this part of our life.
And then..Sarah McLachlan sings 'In the arms of an Angel'
Who among us hasn't wished for a little break from the norm at
some part of our life? I know I could have used a few. What peace
it brings just imagining what it would feel like. Aww if only.
I guess you just have to believe.
So after a couple days of humming the song in the shower, in
the truck and everywhere else I sat down today and listened to
several different videos and I think I have it worked out of my system.
But just in case ..........

I love that movie - so bittersweet, though. And the song is killer; beautifully heartbreaking. Meg used to make good movies. Well, I always enjoy your blog. Keep writing!
