Really Random Thoughts......

I think the weather people have it out for me.  It seems
like every other day we get a high winds and brief storm
warning.   Ninety nine percent of the time they never develop
but we always error of the side of caution which  means we go
through a scene similar to the last Bug-Out episode from M.A.S.H.
Since we live in a wind tunnel all potted plants must be moved
to a secure location, Flag pole lowered and flags removed,  All lawn
furniture secured and rockers on the porch moved into a position
against the house to prevent 'rocking and pounding' on the siding.
All whirligigs and such must be removed, cushions from the outdoor
swing brought in and bird feeders brought in to prevent breakage.
After securing the compound last night about ten PM and sleeping
through what amounted to a peaceful summer rain about four am we
reversed the process again this morning.   This is not a threat but simply
a word of advice for all of you Meteorologist out there.  I know where
you work and I'm perfectly capable of making your life miserable !
Just sayin'  .................................

I am a firm believer of utilizing the things in nature that God has
provided for me.  I love natural products and love to craft items I need
from things found in my surroundings.  I have, however never ventured
into the wild edibles thing.  I remember my Grandparents eating dandelion
salads and such and I even have an app in my phone showing which
plants are edible.  I guess I've never been that hungry.  I have eaten wild
game over the years mostly because I love to hunt and refuse to kill
something simply for sport.
One of the things I truly look forward to is in full swing right now here
in Ohio.  Berry picking season.  Right now black raspberries are coming
on.  I picked a couple quarts last week but I was weaseled out of them by
three sweet little granddaughters who love them more than I do.  So there
I was out at seven am in the wet bushes behind the house pickin' & grinnin'
to add to my stash.  mmm Berry pie, berry cobbler,  I can taste it now!  If
the weather remains favorable it's looking like a sizable Blackberry picking
season is but about a week or so away.  So many berries.. so little time !

AND 'CUT'   ... That's a wrap !  (until I think of some other senseless dribble ! )
