I would like to put the blame on someone or something else for
my total abandonment of this blog lately but I'm afraid the the only
one to blame is myself. I have had several things that I wanted to
write about but just lacked the *oomph* to sit down and do it. And
due to the unstable condition of my mind, those thoughts have vanished
into thin air.
First off my summer is not going as well as I would have liked
so far. Although I am getting a good amount of free time to spend
out and about I find that not much of that time is being spent doing
the things I enjoy. Seems there are always chores that need done or
improvements I want to make. I'm going to have to change all of that
as soon as this heat wave passes and start enjoying my time out there.
I did manage to get away for six days to attend Jamboree in the Hills
a couple of weeks ago. Although we had a great time I'm afraid that
even my favorite festival is somehow passing me by. I grew up listening
to country music and still enjoy it .. but the country music of today just
isn't the same. Mostly country rock and such and although I do love rock
music too I'm not really too fond of the mixture of the two. Add in a
headliner like Kid Rock and it just messes my head up. Don't get me
wrong he is an outstanding showman and has a great band but his vulgarity
and rappin' just don't belong in this venue. However with the aid of a 'goodly'
amount of alcohol I was able to make it through the evening. That said,
that amount of alcohol did cause trouble later that night but I'll spare y'all the
details of that . All in all the rest of the entertainment was pretty good although
the line-up was not nearly as good as past years. I really enjoyed Alan Jackson
and Brad Paisley but the rest were so -so. But we were blessed with the presence
of our Pa Friends and my good friend from Arizona again this year along with
many many local friends stopping down to visit so that part was great. A couple
of cloudbursts during the show.. not so much. lol
As far as accommodations I could have had a bed in either of the campers that
my friends took out but being me I decided to rough it in a tent. Maybe not a wise
choice on my part. Five nights on a skid and foam pad was fun twenty years ago,
not so much fun now. If I go next year I may consider pulling the camper out.
After all I will be 39 next year ya know. Any way I should have a few pictures
somewhere on my phone or camera if I remember right. Maybe I'll look around
and if I find some I'll add them later.. and I do have a porta john story that needs
told in the worse way but that ones going to take some thought before publishing.....
I'll work on that too lol
