I was recaptured today I did escape for a while yesterday.
And believe me .. freedom was bliss.
Finally got out for a bit yesterday. Didn't get to do any
hiking but I did make it to the camper and checked things out
a bit.. everything's just fine. I did find eight bottles of water
frozen solid in one of the cabinets but none of them had burst.
Got lucky there ! (wow don't remember the last time I said that)
lol Anyway picked up a small load of wood for emergency
use at home, went to an exciting club meeting (right) and even
got in a little ice fishing. Even with the extended sub zero
temps lately I was surprised to only see four to five inches of ice
on the ponds. More than enough to support fisherman but I
thought it would be a lot thicker. I was singing one of my
favorite songs, First cut is the deepest, as we drilled the first
hole of the year with the auger. As Ice forms it builds up a bit
of pressure between the surface of the water and the ice so when
the first hole cuts through the entire lake sounds like it cracking
into a million pieces. Hard not to run...lol Had a little fun..

All in all a nice day.. Temps in the twenties and not much wind. Hopefully get back out this week for a day or two before weather turns bad again.
Newsflash ! Washing machine just gave up the ghost..
Looks like a shopping day is in my near future :-((
