For simply no reason......

I have simply no reason to post tonight other than the fact
that I'm bored.  Been a fairly uneventful week so far and I see
no point in boring you people with all of the excitement of grass
cutting and household chores.  I'm sure you have enough of those
of your own.   However !!!   I did learn a valuable lesson while
preparing to cut grass yesterday.  I have two tractors.. one new
one I keep in the garage downstairs and a larger one I keep out in
the shed in the yard.  Went to get the older one out and it wouldn't
start.  Being the mechanical wizard that I am suspected a dead
battery so I hooked up the charger and took a nap while it charged.
(not one to waste time)   An our later .. same results !  Must be
the solenoid.  Disassemble half or the dash and frame of the tractor
to reach it and test it ... tests out fine.  Reassemble tractor and try
again... same results.  Must be the starter itself.  Try putting power
directly to the starter... nothing.  Time to disassemble the motor.
Take off the top shroud only to find that a mouse had used my
oil checking paper towel plus other various grasses and such to
build a nest between the starter and the flywheel jamming it solid
and stopping it from turning.  Had I checked this first I would have
saved a lot of work plus replacing the starter which was damaged
do to all of the attempts to start it in the jammed position.  Mechanic
my keister !!!     Did I mention I hate mice ???

Another completely wasted job I did this week involved work on
the camper.  As posted,  my antenna was destroyed a while back ( I
think a mouse chewed the limb off)   Not wanting to pay almost three
hundred dollars for a replacement from RV dealer I go to Wally World
and pick up a nice replacement for around sixty dollars.  With a power
rotor and remote control... cool beans!  Of course that means rerouting
the cable throughout the camper but that wasn't so bad.  Being in a remote
location I used to get five channels.  With the new one + the rotor I can
now get thirteen.  Pretty good deal for a guy who watches zero TV..........
Maybe the mice will want to come in a watch ......

There  was one positive thing that happened this week.  I bought a
new gun.   I have been wanting a small 'plinking' pistol for some time
but having already bought two new guns this year I was having trouble
justifying the purchase of another.  Low and behold a club member and I
were talking and it seems he has been looking for a certain high power
rifle that I own.  Now I never ever sell my guns.  I have only sold one
other gun and that was to a really good friend that was down on his luck
and needed a gun to hunt with.  But this gun was different.  I had owned
it for fifteen years and shot it five times on the day I bought it.. cleaned it
and put it in the cabinet.  I had absolutely no need for it.  I simply bought it
because I had never owned a lever action rifle before and thought maybe
someday I might want to become a cowboy I guess.   Anyway the offer
was made and it was the exact cost of the pistol I wanted so off it went and
I purchased the new one the next day.  I've already fired a hundred rounds
through it and I'm very happy with it's performance.. (mine .. not so much)
but I'll catch on.

I still have a couple more days in this week for something earthshattering
to happen.  If it does I'll be sure to P.S. this post.. but it doesn't look promising...
