Unexpected find...

Old Railroad station in
Zanesville Ohio

On a recent visit to my daughters in Zanesville she took me downtown to see the old Railroad station and freight depot. The station is more or less abandoned although it does have a lot of construction materials stored inside so maybe a restoration is in the works. On the other hand the freight depot has been partially re-done with small shops. Hopefully these buildings will be saved and put to good use.

This is a view of the freight receiving side of the depot. The shops are on the other side.. there is a small yard on the other side with a few tank cars and a Conrail engine or two. The lack of tracks around these structures kinda take away from the mystic of it all .. but I can picture the old steam trains pulling in to unload their loads....But then I have a vivid imagination..haha
Of course I didn't have my camera with me so I borrowed my daughters camera and had her e-mail me the pictures. I guess I'm still indebted to her... : )
