The Million dollar question...Paper or plastic ?
Over the past year or so I have purchased several of the store brand
cotton reusable bags to keep from answering that very question.
Problem is you have to actually take them into the store with you in
order to make that theory work. Something I can never remember to do.
So each trip I face the same. "kill a tree or clog a landfill" question. I
usually opt for paper for the simple reason that plastic bags always seem
to 'unload' themselves in the back of my truck before I get home.
Paper does seem to travel better although there is that dead tree issue.
My other issue with bags is ..what kind of incentive do stores offer for
cashiers that give out the most plastic bags? I mean ..one or two
items per bag?..really ?? Ok..It's the weekend , it's dreary outside
and I have pent up anger to release. That being said and my rant being
over...It's time for the NASCAR All star race on TV. I guess watching some
race cars beat each other into the walls will help ,but there is still that pesky
barrel full of dirty recycled plastic bags in front of the store to address.
Maybe next weekend !!
