Justice...

Anybody that knows me knows that I am not very outspoken
on most of the controversial topics in this little world we live in.
That does not mean that I do not have opinions.  Only that I realize
that nothing is going to be accomplished by long drawn out arguments
with someone who, like me ,already has their mind made up.
But sometimes .. just sometimes I simply feel the need to vent.
The recent Martin/Zimmerman trial is one such occasion.
The entire case in my humble opinion was a vast collection
of mistakes by everyone involved.  Although I am saddened by
the death of any young person I know that everything could have
been prevented if only people would act appropriately.  Without
dwelling on the case I would like to remind people that ,although
a horrid fact, This sort of thing happens thousands of times every day.
Black and white is not a issue.  Every day  Blacks kill blacks, whites
kill whites, Hispanics kill Hispanics and each race kills every other race
over  drugs, money, cars, shoes, colors, infidelity,  you name it.
In these cases race is never an issue
So why is this case getting all or the civil rights leaders and people
calling for government intervention and rewriting  of laws and such?
Although tragic, Is this young mans life more important than some poor
kid shot down in a drive by drug deal gone bad. or some teen that is
murdered for his sneakers?  How about the gangs that kill each other
buy the hundreds daily?  Is their life not as important?  Truth of the
mater I think is that  media coverage and some of these so-called
commentators on the news stations sensationalizing the events
and stirring up the public.
In conclusion.. Should T.M. have been in some ones yard that night
hoodie or no hoodie?  Probably not.  Should G.Z have followed him?
probably not.  Was he a little over zealous about the Neighborhood
watch thing?  maybe  Was T.M. the innocent kid with a bag of skittles
that they made him out to be?  I think not.  That night their worlds
clashed.  Like so many of those encounters there wasn't a happy ending
for either party.  But all of the evidence was presented and a jury of
his peers found him not guilty.  Case closed  That is how our system
is set up and that is how it works. I am not a prejudice person but truth
be know If this would have been a single race shooting .. we would
have never seen a trial... let alone TV coverage.  So morn if you will
for the Martin Boy but don't forget the hundreds that died that same day
for absolutely no reason than their $500 sneakers or being at the wrong
place at the wrong time !   I choose to morn for them all .
