Chairs and changes....

Next week  this tranquil setting will change.  Archery season comes
in here and the area will be scattered with camouflaged figures and
4 wheelers making their way to the woods is search of that elusive
deer they have been watching for weeks.  Of course it will be nowhere
to be found, but then that's normal.  The mornings will be filled with
sounds of bikes running, fake antlers clacking and deer calls being
sounded as hunters try their best to fool the almighty Whitetail.
Sounds are an important part of the camping experience for me.
I enjoy sitting listening to the sounds of turkeys gobbling, Grouse
drumming their wings on a log, squirrels chattering as they shake
hickory nuts from the trees and scold me for invading their homes.
As evening comes I am treated to coyotes howling and owls asking
that unanswered question.
A couple weeks ago I was treated to a sound that I had never heard
in the wild. Not a loud shriek or a deep scary growl but every bit
as scary non the less.  The one thing every grown man fears, and right
in broad daylight.  "Pappy.. I pooped"   I answered with the only thing
I could think of that would save me ... "GRAMMY"    As luck would
have it I was rescued.  On a brighter note we have starting using the potty
this week and are doing pretty good at it.  Thank goodness for that
I don't think I can stand many more scares like that !!!
