I know I have some backward ways about me, but I
lay the blame totally on my ancestors . It was them
who dilly dallied around when planting the seeds for
our family tree. If they would have been as hard
working and diligent as me the tree would have grown
much faster and I would have been born much earlier
in a time period where i more aptly belonged.
Modern technology has me in a constant state of
confusion. In fact that is one reason this blog post
is so blah .. I have some relevant pictures I could post
to liven it up but my computer has decided that it
doesn't like the changes I have made to it and is
punishing me by holding all of my photos hostage.
I will not let it win ! I'll just work around it and let
it set here with it's belly full of photos until it get's ill !
Getting back on subject, I was watching a few
videos on You Tube this afternoon of (as usual)
primitive camp cooking and Bushcraft and was just
thinking of how much simpler life would be back in the day.
Notice I didn't say easier ! I did start to notice that
without modern appliances one must deal with some less
than perfect meals. Now I have no problem with a little
ash in my soups and stews and a little burnt crust on my
breads and biscuits but it sure would have been handy if
someone had developed a thermostatically controlled fire
ring back then.
Of course I always say how much I love
the outdoor life and primitive ways but you will notice I
never seem to post any pictures in a raging snowstorm or
in sub zero conditions. I have done both and I promise you
it is not at all enjoyable. Maybe this winter, just for research
purposes, I will do a winter camp out with only a tarp shelter
and minimal gear and attempt to film some of it . After all
If your gona talk the talk .. you gotta walk the walk. Although
I'll make sure I'm close enough to the camper in case I wimp
out lol
Enough of this senseless dribble.. As you may be able to tell
I'm bored and simply killing time until the presidential debate
comes on later. That should put my confusion about technology
on the back burner for a while. No matter which party I watch
I always come away scratching my head and thinking ..
Is that the best we have to offer ? I wonder if it was any
different 'Back in the day '
