My spot.....

I have a spot.   It's nothing special, but it's mine.  Not far from my
camper on one of the trails is a large patch of pines.  Since it is close I
often take small hikes up there when alone at camp.  There are quite a
few woodpeckers in this section so I like to keep abreast of their work.
I posted pictures of some of it in an earlier blog.  There are also a couple
trees that were damaged at one time and seep pine sap which I collect
for various craft projects.  Although these are the things that drew me
there in the beginning the thing I get the most pleasure out of is just sitting
on my bike on the trail on a quiet morning and watching the sun come up
through the pines.  Most every morning just after daybreak I'll take the
short ride up the trail and as I enter the woods I'll just stop, shut off the
bike and sit back in the silence of the morning and watch the show.  A
perfect time to give thanks for another day and ponder the little glitches
in my life.  That sun coming through the trees puts it all into prospective
just how petty our problems are.  It only takes a few minuets of my time
to recharge my batteries and adjust my attitude to prepare for another day.
Granted It sometimes doesn't last the entire day.. especially it it gets 'peoplely'
out. but it's a start.   There are a million places on this earth that one can find
a spot like this.  It is nothing special. There's no hidden beauty or fantastic
view... but this one is mine
