Yes it's hot. But after this past winter and spring I refuse to
complain. We are supposed to have a few days of this heat wave
so maybe, just maybe it will dry things up a bit. True I did see a
Robin using a potholder to pull a worm out of the ground just the
other day and the farmer up the road is feeding his chickens cracked
ice to keep them from laying hard boiled eggs but to tell the truth
I am just starting to warm up from December. On the up side maybe
this heat will break the every three day grass cutting cycle.
The heat does put a small damper on a few outside projects I
wanted to get done. But they can wait. I can honestly say I've had
pretty good luck with the weather on days that I did venture out on
excursions so someone is looking out for me. Lake Erie fishing trip
had beautiful weather and smooth water, and for once the motion
sickness pills did their job. A couple little solo primitive camping
trips saw a bit of rain but no major weather. These day trips are
sometimes a little more fun when you add in a few challenges.
Nothing like starting a fire to cook your diner with wet wood .
However nothing beats a grilled steak and a hot cup of coffee while
sitting there listening to the rain pounding on a tarp stretched between
two trees. Washes my soul without getting me wet. lol Need
to do a couple more trips soon to double check my gear. Thinking
of a little road trip to Michigan in a month to meet up with some
like minded folks that I follow on social media for a weekend primitive
camping trip. Not sure just yet .. but planning and hoping things work
out .
Well enough rambling. Heading out to do a little night fishing
tonight (less heat) I need to get out of this AC and back into the real
world. Maybe I'll actually have something to talk about on my next
post. I highly doubt it .. but maybe. I don't want to get everyone's
hopes up but maybe I'll fall in the lake or get attack by bats, or carried
away by a pack of wild coyotes ! Not likely, but if so I'll try to get photos !!
:)
