little community a few miles from our home. I had
been there before years ago and I've driven by it on many
occasions. In fact my wife's relatives once owned a
cottage there. When they decided to sell it we should
have bought it as they are seldom available. But alas
we were young and foolish and not thinking about
our golden years quite yet.
The little community was founded in I think 1870 and
for some years was quite the summer place. It consists
of sixty some small summer cottages nestled in a shady
oak grove just outside of a small town. The ground is
owned if I'm not mistaken by a local church group. The
cottages are well maintained and clustered fairly tightly
around narrow streets and lots and lots of sidewalks.
What a pleasant way to spend a day walking through
and speaking to the people sitting out enjoying the summer
weather. Although it was a bit more peopley today with
a festival of sorts going on.. it was still a pleasant walk.
There was several groups scheduled to in the open church
auditorium but we were there between sets.
I did take a couple pictures but I also missed a couple
shots that I really wanted to get but figured I get on the
way back out. Of course that never happens. There is very
little info on-line about it but I did find this link...

As you can see it does not make for an exciting day however if
your looking for a place to clear your mind for a bit..The walk will do wonders!
