Nobody was injured. No damage done to the vehicle itself. Only damage was to my mental state and lost time doing repairs.
It happened so quickly. Any time we go somewhere my wife always drives her car. I think it's a control thing. lol The other day we were heading up river to a spaghetti house for dinner. Surprisingly we walked through the garage and she mutters "your driving" No problem. Surprisingly my truck was just about, almost, virtually empty and clean. (not normal) Off we go. Now it has been a while since she has rode in my truck any distance so my memory was a tad foggy on what it was like . It didn't take long to jog my memory. First the seat was too upright. That needed adjusted. Plus it was too far forward. Once that was corrected the temperature settings were off a bit.. Fixed that. That made the vents blow in her face. Can't have that... simple adjustment. Although it was only a thirty minute ride these adjustments had to be made at least six more times during the trip. Not to mention having to organize the console
Now this is the same person that wore the paint markings off of the fan and temperature knobs on her Chevy Equinox in less than three years. I tried to remain calm as I explained that when the seat is tilted back I have difficulty checking for oncoming traffic at an intersection. I've never owned a four door truck before and that center post creates a blind spot for me.. Having a seatback jammed in the rear window compounds the problem. But I'll live with it. I didn't dare bring up the temperature issue because I know the complex combination of opposing window openings that has to be worked out if we would decide to go with the outside air option. Life used to be so simple !!!!!
So after an overpriced pasta dinner we headed home. Of course the sun was setting and the evening was cooling so that meant a couple dozen adjustments of the climate control system (much like NASA's controlled environment) was in order I spent the next two days reconfiguring my truck to a drivable space Only thing left is to re-do the presets on my radio. Then again, I never turn it on anyway so it's fine..
