I saw this pop up on my FB feed today and it so hit home with some thoughts I had while on a recent shopping trip. As some of you may know I am far from a hoarder or a prepper, but I do buy in bulk on most things we commonly use. I just like the security of having a good meal without running to the store every day. Between home canned goods. canned vegetables, dried beans and a freezer full of meat I feel pretty safe short term. Also, being on fixed income it allows me to spread the cost out a little at a time.
Back to the point. The other day as I was shopping, I was pushing my cart up each aisle, and I realized how good it felt to be able to say to myself. We have plenty of that, We don't really need this, We have more than enough of those. To not 'need' is a wonderful feeling, Although I am far far from wealthy, simple planning has given me a true sense of security. Plus, it leaves a little room in the budget for Oreos and Reese's cups lol
You are soooooo right!
