Yep... normal day...

Could it just be me?   I can't believe it's effecting
the whole world.  Maybe it's just a local area thing.
It has something to do with the fracking in my area.
Whatever it is I wish it would stop and go away !
Such a beautiful day today for being mid January.
Little rain this morning and them cleared out.  Temps
in the high sixtys.. who could ask for more?  Since I
needed to go to camp anyway to look for a new knife
that I had misplace last week this would be a perfect
day to get three little jobs done at camp.  I have a new
little camp stove I want to try out, a new cargo box to
mount on the four wheeler and a video to shoot for
You tube.
Let's start with the video.  Several of my subs
have been asking about the area where I camp and such
so I decided to film some of the ride out and a short
look around the entrance and the general layout of the
club.  Camera mounted on the windshield I proceeded
to narrate the trip with all of the expertise of a professional
Narrator.  Perhaps even a bit better.  Looked great!  No
traffic.. no glitches.. This film was going to win an award.
That being done I started working on the bike.  New
straps.. check  New Stainless bolts..check  Drill, drill bits
and wrenches .. check.  All untarped and old cargo box
removed ..check.   What????  Torx head bolts to remove
rack to drill it???  I have sockets.. I have wrenches.. I have
allen wrenches .. I have every size screwdriver known to
man.  Where are my three .. count 'em .. three sets of Torx
wrenches ?  At home of course.  Scrap that job.  Two hundred
and fifty some members and not a soul around to borrow a
tool from !
Now in my search for a proper tool I failed to notice that
the wind had now picked up considerably.  I was reminded
as I tried to replace the covers on the bike.  It was much like
flying a ten by twelve foot kite in a hurricane.  Translated
that means.. no fires ..no testing my stove and no lunch !
So beaten and hungry I went into the camper to locate
my lost knife.  It's nowhere to be found.  One hundred and
fifty dollars for a knife and I lose it after one day hunting!
Ok.. chin up !  I'll watch my video.  That will cheer me up .
Well it would have cheered me up if I had put the camera
on video record instead of photo.  I had exactly three still
shots of the entire trip in.  And not one single word of my
award wining narration.   It was at this point that the pistol
on my hip was starting to seem like a viable option for ending
this miserable day but I fought the urge, ate an entire bag
of ginger snaps packed up and headed home.  Oh yea.. one
short stop off for two bottles of wine from the local winery.
This evening will be better I promise.
P.S.  Found my knife !  Someone hid it in the drawer with the
rest of my knives where it belongs.  Sneaky people.

BONUS !!!!!

Not sure if I mentioned it on my blog, in Facebook or just
in conversation but on my trip to Iowa this summer I saw
something that truly fasinated me.  For almost a mile along
an open field was a line of power poles just off of the edge of
the road.  Oddly every other pole was leaning into the field.
I wanted to stop and get a picture but didn't and it bothered
me all the way home.  A couple weeks ago a friend from there
was going to go camping at that lake again so I ask him to
please take a photo for me and send it to me.  I explained
where they were located and he told me kinda matter of factly..
"Ohh  You mean where they replaced all the poles?"   Seems
they push all of the old poles over at and angle.. place new
ones between them  then transfer the wires.  Just how stupid
do I feel now?????   So much for the slanted pole mystery.
