My what a night they must be having in Heaven . Once again my little train/breakfast group has taken a hit. Once started as a happy go lucky get together full of train talk and trips has now dwindled down to a couple of sad guys reminiscing about the good old days. Wit the dreaded 'V' going around we weren't able to get together this summer. although we did stay in touch. It made for a long summer for sure.
Today I found out that the ,pretty much, founder/leader of our little group passed over the weekend. I had talked to him a couple weeks ago and all was fine. Then the virus hit. In a little over a week and a half he went from fine to having problems, to 60% oxygen, to ventilator to kidneys shutting down to death. All without a visitor, a friend near ,or someone to bolster his spirits. What a sad way to go after a life of giving Christian support to others inside and outside of his church family. He has sure helped me through a couple of unsure times over the years.
So tonight my thoughts are not of his suffering. That's over now. Tonight I'm thinking of five guys sitting around a golden table talking trains and laughing about old times. Enjoy fellas'
