I made it to the last of the ninth .. full count ... I was feeling strong. I felt that with the right pitch I could put this game away. And the pitch... It's a curve ball .. swing and a miss. Yer OUT !
Oh well I knew this wasn't my game anyway. After this election I was buried with posts and messages about misconduct. It was as if I was the one causing the mess. I behaved for the longest time but after a while I decided that I couldn't just ignore the lies and fabrications and just sit quietly back any longer. It started on messenger with "I hope your happy" statements and tales of impending doom. Your party wants to do this and your party plans to do this. That just may be true.. but give me a listen,
Every party says they are going to do certain things. If you remember Trump said he was going to "Lock her up" didn't happen.. said he was going to redo health care.. didn't happen.. said he was going to bring back coal ..didn't happen.. steel .. didn't happen.. build a wall .. didn't happen. There is one reason for these things.. TO GET YOUR VOTE. In reality most are pipe dreams. I wish coal would come back. I wish telephone operators would come back.. I wish milkmen would come back. The truth of the matter is they aren't cost efficient when compared to new cleaner, safer ways of doing things If you bought that line then I have some ocean front property in Ohio to sell you ! The same is true with the (maybe) new administration. Yea they have all these ideas and this big scary agenda that everyone is upset about. But how easy will it be to accomplish these goals?
Enter the spoiler ! Checks and balances. Spoiler . That's why I am glad the republican party kept the Senate. Our government is based on a system of checks and balances. One of the reasons I voted as I did was because I saw our government moving away from it. Truly I think Donald Trump is a vile person and I came as close to hating a person as I ever had in my life. But I could have lived with him if I didn't feel he was ruining the type of government this country was founded under. When the leader of our country sides with foreign dictators over our own intelligence community, Degrades the the departments that serve him on a daily basis and fires the people that are supposed to be informing him whenever they don't bow down to his ways we are heading into a dictatorship . What scares me is a lot of people have no problem with this. They agree with him now. But what happens when that power is absolute and he changes his position? I was always one to look down the road. And what I've seen I didn't like.
Our two party system has problems. But it has problems because it has no middle ground. Each party is hell bent of fucking the other party (pardon the language) to the extent that we never can move forward. Now if your one of the ones that say the dems are the problem or the Republicans are the problem.. then YOU are the problem. It's OUR problem and we dam sure better solve it if we want to save this place we call home.
I've lost several friends over this fiasco. A few casual internet acquaintances,, couple of what I considered good friends and a very special friend that I guess was inevitable. I certainly hope it wasn't in vain. I pray that we can get beyond this . I've already suffered enough pain and grief over a bunch of people who can't even open their eyes and see the damage they are doing .
