It's chilly out .. you all know what that means. The time is here for me to hunker down in front of this laptop and type post after post about things better kept to myself that nobody cares about but are just curious or bored enough to read anyway. It's what I do . Let the games begin !!!!
You Tube...
I have followed different channels on you tube for years. The only reason I started posting videos in my channel was that every time I would comment on someone's video they would go to my channel and it would say "this channel has no content" That annoyed me a bit. So I took it to task to try to film a couple intro videos to fix that problem. They were terrible. ( one can still go back and view them although I don't know why anyone would lol) But a couple people watched them and commented on them. That was the best thing since sliced bread to me. Somebody actually watched them. I was amazed. Seeing the poor quality of the videos sent me on a search for an editing program that a dummy like me could actually navigate and a tightwad like me could actually afford. I stumbled onto Filmora and was actually able to edit some of my videos (although very crudely) to my liking. Then the big question. Which direction would I take the channel? I planned to film all sorts of outdoor adventures both camping , fishing and such but then reality set in . I discovered how hard it is to set up camera shots, film and get good audio when your working by yourself. Since I am too insecure to let anybody in on this venture none of my family or friends are even aware I have a channel. Hence I have almost six hundred subscribers world wide and absolutely nobody close to me even know it exists. The one thing I did find a little easier to film was cooking at camp. Since I make it a point to eat everyday It seemed a natural to film making lunch or whatever. I'm by no means a good cook. But that won't stop me from trying. It's like the old saying "Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't sing" I've noticed lately that I'm getting a little weary of just watching me cook and burn things and I'm thinking I need to change my channel direction. Maybe a couple more woodturning videos as they seem to spark a little interest plus a few outdoor action shots of me falling down a hill in the woods or dropping my camera in the lake.. or chopping my finger with an axe ... You know.. crowd pleasers lol I'm not really into building a big channel I just enjoy the editing part and the friendship of the people I meet on there. People have been outstanding in the bushcrafting community I'm in as far as sending gifts , cards and such and especially the channel stickers we trade back and forth. It kind of brings the community together (unlike the rest of the world these days) I even had stickers made for my channel and it brings a smile to be watching someone's video and see your sticker on their board. Okay This was a bit more long winded than I planned so off I go to shoot some video of some lathe work. I'm making a set of ferro rods and strikers for a young man in Iowa that I met on my camping excursion last year. I probably won't post it till after he receives them as I want them to be a surprise, hmm maybe I'll do the 40 question challenge that I was challenged to while I have the camera fired up. That should be a show stopper !!!
Film at 11 !!! Subscribe and ring the notification bell so you don't miss an exciting new video... lol right ?
