It's cold... It's raining.. I'm chilled.. I'm bored and
I'm still lovin' every minute of it I got an early start
at doing nothing today which is my usual everyday
game plan. I did get a few craft things done that I've
been putting off like making some waterproof fire starters
for camp. Tried some new ones today.. those little ketchup
cups from fast food places filled with dryer lint wrapped
in jute twine and filled with candle wax. *Light fuse
and get away* lol Really pretty good. They burn for
about eighteen minutes with a good hot flame. Great
for starting campfires on damp days without a lot of the
work of chopping a lot of kindling. Plus I used some of
my wife's discarded scented candles so they smell nice
burning. Nothing like lavender flavored hot dogs 'eh?
just kidding the smell goes away quickly.
The only problem I have on days like today is my
constant urge to eat everything even remotely edible
when I'm bored and drown myself with coffee. I can't
walk by a candy dish or the chip cabinet without sampling
something. Funny thing is I don't seem to have that problem
passing up the fruit bowl... go figure. Not a good weekend
to be off my meds I guess.
My savior is the internet. Especially You Tube. It's
how I pass most of my day. Still that presents a problem
because I watch things and it remind me of things I
intended to do but forgot about. I never realized how
bad I needed a blanket pin until I watched a couple of
videos on wearing a wool blanket as a garment today.
I have this passion for wool blankets in cold weather so
having several on hand wearing one is a no brainer!
After seeing the prices of these pins on-line and knowing
the simplicity of making them I did manage to take
twenty minutes between snacks to search out some brass
rod in the workshop and make myself one. I had time to
kill while the second pot of coffee was brewing anyway.
After a very refreshing one hour nap and I was back on the
internet catching up on Face Book posts and commenting
on videos that I subscribe to on You Tube. I have made quite a
few friends by way of their videos and enjoy sharing ideas and
such with people from all over.
Since I spent way too long away from food I decided to make
some homemade french fries and try out my new waffle knife.
Worked great made fries just like the crinkle cut ones. (I like the
crispy edges..lol) Throw in a couple wieners and dinner is served.
Putting the cart before the horse I did the dishes and cleaned up my
mess and headed in to document today's monumental happenings
in this blog while still fresh in my pea sized brain. I mentioned
putting the cart before the horse because I often have a couple adult
beverages to aid my memory while I write these posts.. Something
I often refer to as 'Loading the dishwasher' lol This time I did the
dishes first.. (less breakage)
