Guide service available....

As an outdoor lover (lover of the outdoors as
opposed to liking to make make love in the outdoors...
On second thought .... never mind)  I often find myself
in different 'new' unfamiliar areas.   I greatly enjoy
exploring new areas except for one small thing.  I am
not exactly very good at directions.  Thus I find myself
'misplaced' from time to time.  I'm never really lost because
I know most of the general area and usually a short walk
in any direction will bring me to a landmark that I recognize.
Granted it may be in the exact opposite direction from
where I intended to be but I can take pride in the fact that
I indeed am not 'lost'.   Sometimes this adds time to a planned
hike but it also presents new surrounding that I otherwise
may not experienced.  I do know a lot of ways to tell direction
but I guess I just get so wrapped up in the splendor of my
surroundings that I pay no attention to where I'm going.
This lack of directional skill also spills over to highways.
Once I find a route to a certain place,  I have no reason to look
for alternative routes.   And If I'm not driving I will have no idea
how we got to our destination or how to return.  Why would I
fill my head with such information when It's not needed ?
Until today that is.  The county just closed a bridge yesterday
between our house and my camping spot.  I've searched maps
and such and all routes bring me in on the wrong side of the bridge.
It's looking like I can't get there from here !   I may have to go
somewhere else and start.   So today I am going to set out to find
an alternate route.  I only mention this so if I am not heard from for
several days perhaps somebody reading this blog could notify the
proper authorities.  (Due to my recent shenanigans I'm not sure
my family would make the call)  Seriously though.. I think I've
got this.   I will be dropping breadcrumbs out my truck window
just in case.
