Made a poor decision today. I'm usually good for one
or two a day but today I combined a weeks worth of bad
decisions into one evening.
While getting my boat ready for fishing I decided since
i needed a couple mechanical repairs it would be great to have
it up by the shed in the yard where most of my torches, grinders
and such are. It's nothing new for me to drive back there through
the yard with my truck. I found out tonight that driving back there
with a thirty eight hundred pound Bass Boat in tow is not as easy.
Since it is a terraced yard I managed to get a little off track and
slide the boat down over the little grade and into the chain link
fence. No damage but ohhhh what a hassle. Unable to move
forward or backward without tearing up the fence and damaging
the boat I was left with trying to slide the whole rig sideways..
up hill. Yea.. like that's possible! After about three hours.. three
friends.. a winch..several chains.. a come-a-long.. and three trucks
it was mission accomplished! It's going to cost me a couple cases
of beer but that's a small price to pay . Oh yea.. I was also
informed that I am not allowed to ever try that stunt again. And
that order came from the CEO of the house. I was told that the
next time that boat was stuck in the yard it's going to be a flower
planter! Ouch! Lesson learned (for now) .......................
