Why ask why ?

They call it the Super bowl.  The best of the best
The matchup of the division's best.  That almost
sounds like a game I could embrace.   'NOT'
Of course it's well known that I'm not a sports
fan.   I just have a hard time idolizing men that
earn more than the annual income of some third
world countries and act like eight year old kids
when things don't go their way.
Anyway back to this Super bowl game.  Cheap
seat tickets  @ $8500 a pop.. good seats at a mere
$25,000.    I'll bet there were a lot of 'average Joe's
at that game.   But.. beer was reduced this year...
from $14.00 a can to $12.00 a can so drink up fellows!
Believe it or not I actually watched most of the game
this year.  And it was a good game.  Not a runaway
like most and although I saw a few calls I thought were
questionable, all in all  a well officiated game (rare)
Having no particular favorite helped since the outcome
didn't really matter.  Although years ago I did back the
Seahawks when they first started but that was because
of a left handed quarterback they picked up and I was
trying to get over the loss of left handed Ken Stabler at
Oakland in the late 70's  lol  ( back when I cared about
football)   Anyway, I almost enjoyed the game.  My
discontent came really after the game.  I hated that the
game was decided by a truly stupid call.  If I was a
conspiracy theory person I would think it was set up.
But then again the whole scenario was set up by a circus
catch to begin with so who knows.
My displeasure comes from the fact that this is supposed
to be a team sport.  and by that I guess the media defines
'team' as the coach and the quarterback.  MVP almost
always goes to the quarterback.  Third time for Brady
tying a record.   This after throwing two interceptions
overthrowing open receivers several times including
twice in the end zone ?   How about the receiver with
eleven catches and no drops.  Or the lineman who protected
him all day ?  And what does he get for this MVP award?
A trophy and I'm sure some kind of cash bonus for one of
the richest men in sports plus a new truck!   And what does
the media say about that ?   It's a disgrace !  Giving a guy
like that a truck he'll never drive.  Should at least have givin'
him an Escalade or something like last time.. what an
embarrassment !  Really.. what do you give one of the
richest men in sports?  Face it .. If he wants it .. he has it.
Take the tax write off and donate it to a good cause.  Would
that be so terrible?   I'm sure Chevy just wanted the exposure
for their truck .  I really don't think they were out to impress
Tom Brady with their gift.
So there's my take on it .  I think that was enough football
to hold me over for a few more years.  Maybe 2020 I'll tune
in and see if anything has changed.  Till then I'm going back
into my time warp and back to the woods.
