Well anybody that has talked to me or read my last blog
post knows I had a pretty full weekend last weekend. That's
good because I may not have another for a while...lol I'm
guessing going from my winter 'do nothing' mode to warp
speed in one weekend wasn't the smartest thing for this old
body. Like everyone else in this world today it has filed a
formal protest. After a couple days of feeling like I had been
run over by a dump truck loaded with lead bars I decided that
what I needed was to climb back on the horse. I never was
good at sitting around and can usually work through whatever
has me down. Times they are a changin'.
Today I decided to tear into my four wheeler and do a little
long needed maintenance. All new wheel bearings, control arm
bushings, the works. Big job, but Not for Super Mechanic !!
I had forgotten what a cold damp concrete floor feels like. I
almost remember it as being comfortable compared to the rocks
and dirt I laid on when I was younger working on cars. Needless
to say the day didn't go as planned. My inability to get up and
down to go fetch tools without screaming in pain from a back
that refused to bend was only compounded by the blood and
pain of my knuckles from the errant blows of a two pound hammer
not once or twice but three times while trying to drive a purposely
uncooperative bearing out of the front strut. All told I did manage
to get the front end completed. (no small task) but I'm leaving the
rear for another day after my hand heals a bit. Besides I want to use
the bike this weekend just for a bit since it is Mothers day. Oops..
wife is on her way home and I have the bike parked in her garage.
Not a good start to the weekend 'eh ? lol But I'm showered and
in my sweats with a iced down swollen hand and a hot cup of tea
(Egyptian licorice no less) so I'm sure one night out in the driveway
won't hurt her car... me maybe.. but not her car...lol
