quick R.I.P.

I had a troubling occurrence last evening.  It is
common knowledge that I sometimes nap in the recliner
with my faithful little dog nestled snugly on my lap.  It
is one of the high points of my evening and makes me feel
so relaxed and secure.  That was in the past.  Recently my
loving wife, no longer satisfied with candles and warmers
and such decided to try these new atomizing scent spraying
machines.  She tried them in a couple locations around the house
but for various reasons they never panned out.  When put on the
bookcase in the hall it sometimes sprayed just as you walked by
which wasn't too much different than pepper spray.  When
placed on the lamp stand in the living room it sprayed an oily
residue on the table.  What to do.. what to do.???
Solution !  Place it on the Mantle over the fireplace !  High
enough to avoid eye contact and no nasty overspray.  perfect!
Now enter the second part of the equation.  Salt Lamps.  Emits
positive ozone's to calm one's nerves and ease their mind.
Ours is a large bowl full of pink colored crystals that emits a
nice warm glow when lit and is really very pleasing to the eye.
Now I don't know if my recent political rants gave her the idea
or not but for some reason she placed it on the fireplace also.
In fact it is just about at head level to my recliner when in the
tilted (napping) position.  It must work because I am totally
relaxed when in that chair.  That was until last night.   Last
evening as I rested my weary bones in my favorite chair with
my faithful dog and was just about to drift off for a heavenly
nap I heard a slight 'woosh'.  Suddenly the room was filled with
the fragrance of fresh flowers, lilacs to be exact.  As I turned to
see what it was I was faced with the beautiful glow of soft lighting
reminiscent of a funeral home.   At once I jumped.. pinched myself
a couple times and scared the dog into hiding!  Today will be furniture
rearranging day at our house.. My dreams are eerie enough without
waking up in a casket every time I take a nap !!!
